Wairarapa Clinical Services Action Plan
The
Clinical Services Action Plan sets the scene for future health care in
Wairarapa. It aims to transform health services into a single, linked
system of safe, quality care centred on patients. The CSAP was led by
clinicians and encompasses primary and secondary care.

Health Needs Assessment
The
Wairarapa Health needs Assessment 2008 gives a detailed picture of the health of our population. It helps identify the
key health priorities for the Wairarapa and underpins the
Strategic Plan.
An HNA is carried out about every 5 years.
The Health Needs Assessment informs the next Strategic Plan, due for
completion in September 09. There will be several opportunities to have
input over the next year as we develop our next Strategic Plan.
Strategic Plan
The Strategic Plan
outlines the key health priorities for the next 3-5 years for the Wairarapa.
This is the foundation document for all District Annual Plan resource allocation
decisions.
District Annual Plan
The
District Annual Plan
is the other key planning document for the DHB. It is
negotiated between the Wairarapa DHB and the Minister of Health, supported by a
Statement of Intent and a funding agreement, and is produced on a yearly basis.
It is our 'road
map' for the year ahead.
Easy-to-read 2-page summaries of 11 of our strategic health priority
areas were produced in 2008, covering
Maori Health,
Children and young people,
Mental health and addictions,
Older people,
Long-term conditions,
Family violence,
Primary care,
Hospital efficiency,
Elective services and
Health Targets.
Statement of Intent
The Statement of Intent
is scrutinised each year by the Minister to check WDHB's performance in health targets, and also compare its progress with that of other DHBs. This report is available to the public.
Annual Report
The Annual gives an account of how WDHB managed its resources, and met its targets over the preceding year. It is publicly available once it has been tabled in Parliament, usually in October each year.
