The new Wairarapa Hospital is now completed.
- Masterton Hospital continued to operate as the new Wairarapa Hospital was
constructed. Because we have had room to build the new hospital adjacent to the existing site, there
has been minimal disruption to patients, visitors and staff.
- Migration to he new hospital took place between 27 - 31 March
- Courtyard planting, for which $250,000 was raised in the community, is
nearly completed, and landscaping of the surrounding grounds continues.
- The Chapel has been moved to the new hospital, and should be functional
again by the end of July 2006
- The DHB has declared some of the old site
surplus, and is currently consulting with the community about this.
- A proposal is being considered by the Board regarding tow new buildings to
be constructed - a library/learning centre off the servcie corridor of Wairarapa
Hosptial, and a Public Helath building on the adjacent site on Te Ore Ore road.
