Why the Wairarapa?

Lifestyle is why many people choose the Wairarapa. Reasonably priced housing, rural lifestyle, expanding wine industry, excellent outdoor recreation, and superb educational facilities for both public and fee paying students. The Wairarapa coast is easily accessible, offering your choice of boating, beach and bach experiences. There are a variety of vibrant activities based around music, drama, arts, crafts, organic gardening, tourism, conservation, sporting and out-door pursuits.

Location. Capital city Wellington is a train ride or a 90 minute drive via the Rimutaka Hill Road, giving easy access to national and international transport links, cultural and sporting activities. University city Palmerston North is less than an hour's drive away.

New hospital. The building programme isn't the only positive development happening at WDHB. We're also working through an exciting change process with staff, to ensure they are fully involved in both facility and service design. It's fair to say our User Group process has captured many of the features suggested by staff that will make our facility and services uniquely suited to our community.

Opportunity. Whether you are interested in Accountants or Audiologists, Recruiters or Registered Nurses, whether you want full time, part time or casual hours, Wairarapa DHB offers excellent career opportunities to a wide and varied group of individuals. These roles include, but are not limited to, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Social Work, Speech Therapy, Mental Heath, Occupational Therapy, Dietary, Pharmacy, Psychology, Medical Specialists/Officers, Consultants, Information Technology, Human Resources, Materials Management, Quality & Safety, Legal, Finance and Administration.

In short, there are great things happening here, now and in the future, and we'd like you to be part of it.
